Session restore and migration
Reopen last session's windows; see every data move AIObox makes.
Can AIObox reopen the windows I had open?
Yes. When AIObox quits, it saves each running profile's provider windows: the page, App or Browser window, size and place. At the next start a banner on the Dashboard offers Restore windows or Not now; Utilities › Session has Restore for each profile. It never reopens anything by itself.
- A profile whose browser is already open keeps its own windows and is not restored again.
- Browser-internal pages are not saved. A window saved on a screen that is gone keeps its size, not its place.
- The saved session is
~/.aki/aiobox/session.json. Quitting with no window open keeps what an earlier quit saved.
What is Migration?
Utilities › Migration lists every move AIObox makes from an older data layout to the current one, says what is left and why, and moves it. Today that means moving profiles to the shared folder ~/.aki/cdp/profiles, then removing the old profiles folder once it is empty.
Will it touch a profile I am using?
No. A profile moves only while its browser is closed; one in use waits and says why. Each move is a single rename on the same disk, so sign-ins stay. AIObox moves what is free by itself at start and before opening a profile, and Migrate or Migrate all runs it on demand. A gold dot on Utilities means something is left.
Can I undo it?
Yes, for the profile move: Undo puts profiles back where an older AIObox looks for them. This version moves them again at its next start. Every action is recorded in ~/.aki/aiobox/migrations/journal.jsonl.
